Lesile G. Bilban

With more than twenty years experience as a practicing lawyer, Ms. Billman focuses her practice exclusively on Family Law.

She is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers which maintains rigorous admission standards. Currently, fewer than forty fellows have been admitted to the Academy from the entire state of Maryland.

Ms. Billman is a past chair of the Maryland State Bar Association Family Law Section Council, that directs Family Law policies and practices statewide, and served on that Council for three years prior to ascending to the chair.

Additionally, she has presented lectures on Family Law topics for judges and lawyers across the state. Ms. Billman has served on the Family Law Committees of the Prince George's and Anne Arundel County Bar Associations

Listed in Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers, Leslie G. Billman is among select lawyers who have earned the AV Peer Review Rating. An AV rating shows that a lawyer has reached the height of professional excellence and adherence to the professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence.

In recognition of her achievements in family law, Leslie Billman has been named in Best Lawyers of America and in Maryland Super Lawyers.

Ms. Billman has been selected to serve on the drafting committee for the Family Law volume of the Maryland Judge’s Benchbook, a reference book setting out a combination of statutory and common law principles organized for quick reference and use  by the Court as issues arise in the courtroom.

Beyond the bar, Ms. Billman combines passions for photography and sports, and spends her spare time photographing professional and college sports for a wire service.  She has photographed pro baseball including the Baltimore Orioles, college football, soccer, and basketball, and has covered nearly every U.S. pro tennis tournament. During the summer of 2007, Ms. Billman accepted the Sampras family’s invitation to photograph Pete Sampras’s induction into the Tennis Hall of Fame, and the weekend events attendant to that ceremony. Her photographs have appeared in Sports Illustrated, ESPN Magazine, Tennis Magazine and other publications, as well as appearing online on numerous sports websites.
